Nuclear Submarine Battery Charger
U.S. Navy, Bremerton Wa.

This assembly consisted of switchgear, AC motor (1200 HP) DC generator (750 KW), reduced voltage motor starter, DC generator excitation and computer control system. Computer controls system voltage and current output to charge and/or discharge from 1 to 256 cells and monitor each cell for critical variables. Special equipment base had to be designed for a balanced three point crane hoist.
