In 1961, Mr. Harold E. Lloyd organized Lloyd Controls, Inc. During the early years he helped to pioneer much of the technology of synchronized electrical drives and control systems used in the forest products industry. Industry acceptance of Lloyd Controls brought rapid growth and diversification in the forest products field. In addition, Lloyd Controls emphasized switchgear, power generation and distribution systems. Expansion into materials handling and process control systems for other industries soon followed. This led to extensive experience in electronics, programmable automation, solid state analog and digital controls, and variable speed electrical drive systems. All of these factors contributed to continued growth. In 1974 Lloyd Controls built a new facility to incorporate engineering design, production and service capabilities in the area immediately north of Seattle. Lloyd Controls capabilities range well beyond the specific design and manufacturing fields shown on these pages. These are just good examples of our experience and flexibility.
